  • President // Author

    Sue James is a retired, childcare provider and author of numerous children’s books. Sue had a well-established childcare practice in her home from 1997 to 2018 -- a practice which was a member of the Pennsylvania Child Care Association (PACCA), and moreover, had earned the coveted Keystone Star 4 Facility recognition.

    Sue is a Graduate of Purdue Global University with Honors, Alpha, Beta, Kappa, with a Bachelor in Early Childhood Development.

    Often, the children and 'Miss Sue' visited the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library. The children's department was located in the front part of the original building at that time. Utilizing library resources, Sue helped the children in her care, to develop a love for art, creating, technology, and reading, always focusing on their strengths and interest.

    Currently, Sue writes and creates contemporary romance books using several pen names, with collaborative efforts in a team setting. Sue also volunteers her time to assist as a board member at the library, and is now, involved in operations, planning, and implementation of new technology. As the co-president of the board of directors, Sue is working with the board and library staff to develop the library into a professional business, that is also a community center, as this is how the library can truly serve all children and all families.

    Vince Cahill was born and raised in New York City. After graduating from Fordham College majoring in Sociology with a minor in Art History, he worked in New York City managing a community art gallery, and as a Public Health Sanitarian investigating incidents of lead poisoning. He also served on the Board of the SoHo Artists Association.

    He and his wife, Claire Hunter moved to Franklin County, Pennsylvania in 1973, and to the Waynesboro area in 1976, where they founded The Colorworks printing company and later Industrial Printing Solutions in 2005. Currently, Vince Cahill operates VCE Solutions, a consultancy that has provided technical and marketing consulting and planning services for digital and analog printing and imaging manufacturers, publications, conferences, and users.

    He has written extensively for industry publications on printing issues. He served as a contracted consultant for IT Strategies from 1996 to 1998 where he researched and wrote reports and presented at various conferences. He has consulted for a range of clients including digital printing users, technology developers and Fortune 500 companies, including DuPont Nemours and Hewlett Packard among others. He served as CEO of Datametrics Corporations during 2000-2001. Datametrics Corporation manufactured digital printing equipment, computer controllers and software for military, airlines and license plate applications. He helped found and served as a principal for Newhill Technologies and Specialty Materials of Tulsa, Oklahoma until December 2010. He has also authored the opening chapter to Digital Printing of Textiles, Edited by: Ujiie, H., 2006 Woodhead Publishing. Mr. Cahill was awarded a patent for a device for digitally printing ceramics and glass, which he and his patent partner assigned to Newhill Technologies LLC. He is a member of the Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) since 2014.

    Administration, Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce

    Sean (Carniello) Bockstie grew up in Waynesboro from a young age and graduated from the Waynesboro Area Senior High School. She attended Shenandoah University for Musical Theatre and after returning to Waynesboro, she performed locally until she met her husband Mike and the two headed west across the country to Las Vegas, NV. Performing turned to worship leading in a large church in Las Vegas, as well as singing in the local band Hefshill. Sean pursued a full time career in property management while there until she and Mike moved back to Waynesboro to acquire their own rental properties and start a family in her home town.

    After their children were born, Sean made the decision to stay home and be their full time caregiver. Noah and Reese both attend the Waynesboro Area Senior High School now. You’ll find Sean on the sidelines of local 5Ks and WASHS Cross Country races and Track events cheering for Noah and rooting from the stands for Reese at the Maiden’s volleyball games. During the Household Manager phase, Sean was active in the community as a volunteer with several non-profits and working at the YMCA and Pictures Plus seasonally.

    Sean was excited to transition to full time work again as the Assistant Director of the Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce in 2022. She is enjoying promoting local businesses through the Chamber and working to grow membership as well as the social media presence and networking events and workshops offered to members. Occasionally, you’ll still see her working a Pictures Plus job directing subjects in community leagues and organizations on picture day.

    In her personal time, she leads worship for Five Forks Church and volunteers in the children’s and youth ministries. You may have seen her leading the National Anthem for local ceremonies and baseball leagues including the Baltimore Orioles and the Hagerstown Suns. She and her family enjoy hiking and climbing local trails, playing in the park, and visiting local restaurants. There is never a dull moment in the Bockstie household!

    Superintendent, WASD

    Dr. Sterner-Hine has worked for the Waynesboro Area School District (WASD) since 1991. Dr. Sterner-Hine taught social studies at the Waynesboro Area Middle School, served as an assistant principal at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School, served as principal of Hooverville Elementary and principal at Summitview Elementary.

    In addition to her WASD work experience, Dr. Sterner-Hine has been actively involved in the Waynesboro Area Business Education and Community Foundation (WABEC) since 2002. Most recently, she served as co-chair for a very successful $1.75 million capital campaign for the Waynesboro Area Business Education and Community Foundation (WABEC). In this role, she actively worked with our community and businesses to reach the goal to finance the cost of a new synthetic turf field and track.

    At WASD, Sterner-Hine has cultivated a very positive and high performing school climate. While serving as principal for ten years at Hooverville Elementary, the students consistently outperformed other schools in Franklin County. Summitview Elementary was the recipient of the Governor's Award for Academic Excellence in 2013 and was recognized as one of the top 100 elementary schools in Pennsylvania based on their 93.2% School Performance Profile (SPP) score.

    Sterner-Hine has presented various workshops for national and state conferences. Her publications include: “The Antebellum Women’s Movement” - National Center for Teaching History and “Math, Reading and Writing Performance on the PSSA: Examining Gender Differences using PVAAS - Doctoral Dissertation - 2012. She has also worked as an adjunct professor for graduate studies at Wilson College.

    Dr. Sterner-Hine is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a BS and a MS in Public Administration and a Comprehensive Social Studies Teacher Certification 6-12. She also received her K-12 Principal Certification from Shippensburg University and her Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from Edinboro University. Her doctoral work was completed at Widener University, Chester PA.

    Dr. Sterner-Hine is a graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and is married to Derek Hine, a Waynesboro Area Senior High graduate. They are the proud parents of two WASHS graduates. Their daughter, Rachel (Class of 2014), is a graduate of Penn State University and is a Financial Analyst in Charlotte, NC. Their son, Evan (Class of 2017), is a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s and is a Financial Advisor in Rehoboth Beach, DE.

  • Treasurer

    Doug has recently joined our board and is currently serving at Treasurer. He is a graduate of Shippensburg University and has over 30 years of financial experience. While he is no longer active in tax preparation, he obtained his CPA license in 1994.

    During his professional career, he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Hospice of Washington County, MD and Fulton County, PA, where he also assumed the role of Director of Human Resources. In addition, he has served as the president of Waynesboro Borough Council and Renfrew Committee, Inc. He currently serves on the board of the Antietam Humane Society.

    Doug is an avid reader of fiction and enjoys reading new and old books at our library. He lives in Waynesboro with Darcy, his calico cat.

    Holly has lived in Waynesboro for her whole life, with a small detour living in SC for a year. She graduated from Waynesboro Senior High School. After high school, she started her career in Banking and Finance as a teller. Holly has been in banking for over 15 years. She has been employed with Patriot FCU for over 10 years, and currently serves the community at the Waynesboro Branch as the Senior Branch Manager. She has earned three degrees. Her majors have included Business Administration, Human Resources, and Management. Holly also currently serves on the Waynesboro Summer Jubilee Committee as Board President.

  • Erica Vinson-Ondecko is the Early Childhood Coordinator at Waynesboro Area School District. She holds her doctorate in school psychology and is particularly interested in building strong home-school partnerships and finding targeted ways to strengthen children academically and socially/emotionally.

    Erica has lived and worked in Waynesboro for over a decade, and is passionate about helping the children and families within our community. Her family includes her husband, as well as their two young children, Trey and Violet. Being able to experience our community as a parent has had a positive impact on her work!.

    Football is also a strong passion of hers, and she has worked as the kicking coach for WASHS's varsity football squad for over a decade. Erica has presented across the country to fellow football coaches about kicking mechanics, trains kickers and provide consulting for coaches at every level of college football. Because of this experience, she has deep connections to a wide range of our community.
