When becoming a Sustaining Donor via our online, secure sever – you are given the option to select your gift amount, select a one-time gift or a monthly recurring donation, enter your contact information, and select your payment via card or bank transfer. It’s as simple as 3-steps. You are only charged for the amount in which you are gifting. Start the donation process on the box to the right – we thank you for your continued support!

Dear Patrons,

One of our generous donors from 2020 recently suggested that we let ALL of our donors know how our 2020 Annual Appeal turned out.

I am really delighted to say that it was a huge success!

As you recall, we had a matching donor in 2020 who offered to match dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000. Many of you responded to that and rose to the challenge: we raised $62,000 from our Sustaining Donors Program and our Annual Appeal donations!

The matching donor did indeed match those donations, and we actually exceeded our original goal by 2.5 times! Thanks to all of you, the library ended the year with a small surplus which we were able to carry forward into our first quarter of 2021 to meet expenses.

As I explained in the appeal letter, the library is forced to operate at a deficit every year as we don't receive enough money from the state and the local property taxes to meet our basic expenses. This means that we will be coming back to you this year for help.

But the generous people of Waynesboro are making it possible for us to continue and we are deeply grateful.

If you have even a small amount to give, you might consider becoming a Sustaining Donor. That means that with your approval, we debit your account the agreed upon amount every month without any further action from you. It could be as little as $6.00, if that is what you can manage. Some people feel that this is a pain free approach.

Others of you might prefer donating from your IRA or 401k every year if you are given a distributed amount at the end of the year which would normally be taxed. As a tax-free donation, it becomes a win-win situation for you and the library if you sign it over to us.

But – however you choose to donate – please keep thinking of us. We hope to be fully open again by Memorial Day. Your donations go towards new books and DVDs, new programs for everyone to enjoy and salaries for our wonderful Children, Teen and Adult Program Specialists.

Thank you so much again for your generosity and for supporting your public library.
