What is an Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loans (ILLs) are a service the library provides where we can borrow materials from other libraries for you.

How do I Request an ILL?

If you cannot find a book, movie, or audiobook in our catalog, you can:

  • Call the library during buisness hours

  • Visit in person and a staff member will fill out an ILL slip for you

  • Fill out the form to the right or email staff@ahmfl.org

You will receive a call or email when your item is ready to be picked up.

We will also call if staff are unable to find the item you requested.

Thing to keep in Mind

  • Loan periods are determined by the lending library and may be shorter than our typical loan duration of three weeks. The due date will be written on the ILL slip attached to the cover.

  • AHMFL can renew an ILL only once for 7 days. Since the book or disk is not our property, we want to ensure it returns to its home library in a timely manner.

  • Materials need to be shipped from other libraries, so it may take some time for your requested item to arrive.
