This summer, there will be no Chess Club scheduled for Saturday July 4th as the library will be closed for Independence Day. Saturday August 8th, this is a special make-up date that you won’t want to miss!
With the growth of school chess clubs and opportunities to play online, chess has never been more popular. Worldwide, an estimated 650 million people play the game. Chess sparks creativity and imagination, demonstrates actions & consequences, improves reading skills, and is just a fun way to connect with others!
Come to sharpen your skills, or learn for the very first time. The club leader will show beginners how to play, move the pieces, & use basic strategy. Bring your own chess set if you have one. We also have extras available.
Did you know that kids, teens, & adults all love chess? This club is geared towards ages 9 & up.
Players of all levels welcome!
