  • Jessica has worked multiple odd jobs from FedEx to Subway prior to becoming part of the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library Team. These jobs have honed not just her physical strength but her people skills as well. She has lived most of her life in Waynesboro but has spent roughly a year living in Seattle, WA while earning her BA in Film Studies at Seattle Film Institute. She has also graduated from Hagerstown Community College with an AA in General Studies. When Jessica is not at the desk, she is usually going around the library searching for lost or missing books, taking care of something that often requires heavy lifting or shelving. If you need to reserve a room for a private meeting or a family get-together, she’s the person to talk to. She lives with her mother and stepfather in Waynesboro with three adorable yet spoiled cats. Jessica enjoys exercising, hiking, cooking and video editing during her "time off.”

  • Ann started working at the Blue Ridge Summit Library over 13 years ago before coming to work Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library. She graduated from the University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Okla., with a BS in Journalism. Ann was married to two Vietnam Vets and moved every few years around the country and Germany. She retired from Fort Detrick, Md., prior to coming to work at the Libraries part time. She lives on the mountain in Cascade, Md., with three dogs (one Junie the Library dog) and one cat—all very spoiled. Ann likes to knit, crochet, quilt and belongs to a couple of blanket making groups. In warm weather, she spends a good bit of time in her large yard raking, mowing and some gardening, or reading on the porch with the dogs nearby. In the fall, she is parked in front of the TV watching college and professional football. Her teams are the Washington Redskins, the Oklahoma Sooners, and because she has grandchildren at Penn State, that too. A longtime advocate of nature and the outdoors, she abhors litter and is often seen picking up beer cans and other tossed trash along the beautiful mountain roads. Ann has two daughters and four grandchildren.

  • Gwendolyn is a homeschooling mom who lives in Waynesboro with her husband, four kids, a fluffy little dog... and a hissing cockroach. An active member of the community, she started at the library as a volunteer teacher, running the homeschool enrichment program and teaching 3D printing and jewelry classes. She is ecstatic to have now joined the library staff! In addition to teaching her children and volunteering around town, she is also serving her very first term on The Institute's board, and working toward an English degree at Hagerstown Community College. Her goals are to someday publish a novel, a children's book series, and a collection of her poetry. In her free time, she enjoys playing games with her family, renovating their 121-year-old home, painting, writing, and taking nature photographs for her instagram account. She also makes jewelry, and (of course) reads! Her favorite authors are Kate Chopin, Jodi Picoult, Octavia Butler, and Jane Austen. One of her favorite things about working in the library is receiving recommendations from patrons, so feel free to stop in and tell her about your favorite book or author!

  • Having recently moved to Waynesboro, Bella is settling into the cozy rural life she has always wanted. Since she first visited the town, she fell in love with the small town atmosphere, and the kind people. She was delighted to join the AHMFL team in May of 2023.

When not at the library, Bella studies social work at Shippensburg University and finds fulfillment in helping people succeed and find contentment in their daily lives. In her free time, she can be found working in her garden, working on a new art project, or curled up with a blanket and a cup of tea, with her nose in a book. Bella enjoys collecting (hoarding) books to add to her own personal library, and thrifting to give stylish second-hand items a new life. She loves to express her creativity through her eccentric, ethereal and earthy outfits. She also loves spending as much time as she can outdoors exploring the woods with her boyfriend Brandon.

She loves a hot cup of tea, and a good book. She is also a proud mom to a black cat, two frogs and a few toads! She is always ready to chat about plants and the current book she is reading! Come her way to brighten your day!
