How to Get a Library Card

You can still browse and use our computers without a library card, but signing up for a card is simple if you’d like one. It takes about five minutes and is free.

You need a photo ID that shows your current address (or, bring your photo ID plus an official document or piece of mail that does show your current address).

To get a card for your child or teen under age 18, simply bring them to the library and follow the instruction above. Kids can get a library card starting at Kindergarten age.

Computers

The Computer Center is located just behind the Circulation Desk. Computers are free for public use. Just sign in to any open computer using your library card barcode number. Or, stop by the Circulation Desk and ask for a guest pass.

The library also has free Wi-Fi, if you’d like to access the internet with your own device.

Printing, Copying, & Faxing

Printing and copying costs 25 cents per page for black-and-white, 50 cents per page for color. If printing from a computer, visit the Circulation Desk to add money to your account or guest pass before printing. If making copies, just tell the Circulation staff how many copies you’ve made and pay them directly.

Library staff will send faxes for you, at $3 for the first page, and $1 for each additional page.

Volunteering

If you’d like to volunteer at the library, click here to access our Volunteer Application. You can also pick up an application at the Circulation Desk, or talk to Gina if you have questions.

Volunteers can:

  • Shelve books

  • Keep the library organized

  • Help set up or tear down special events

  • Help with children’s programs, with proper clearances

Please note, if you have a teenager who needs volunteer hours for the high school civics class, the deadline to submit your volunteer application is November 30.

Programs

The library hosts a wide range of events and programs for adults, including craft classes, book clubs, tea parties, special guest speakers, summer reading raffle, and more. Most programs are free, unless otherwise noted.

Please visit the library or click on the Calendar tab for dates, times, & details. Click an event on the Calendar for more information. You can also check out the library’s Facebook page to keep up to date on what is happening.

Adult Interest Survey

Do you have ideas about programs & events you’d like at the library? Do you have suggestions about books & other materials you think we should have? Would you like to start a club or teach a class yourself? Send an email to adultprograms@ahmfl.org to let us know what you are thinking. We would love to hear from you.
