Summer reading program events

 June 7– June 30:  Sign-up for the Summer Reading Program 

June 21st at 2:00 P.M.   “The Bug Man” Ryan Bridge

Mr. Bridge will bring his extensive collections of butterflies, insects, arachnids, and hissing cockroaches.  Even if you do not like bugs, you are sure to enjoy this program!!!

June 27th at 2:00 P.M.  Fly Fishing Presentation with Don Shade

Mr. Shade’s presentation includes a lesson on various types of artificial insects that are tied to the lure in fly fishing. 

July 2nd at 2:30 P.M. Puppet Show

Our children’s department will put on a Puppet Show that all ages will enjoy.

July 11th at 12:00 P.M. Renfrew Park  Picnic &

Scavenger Hunt

Sign-up Required.  Thirty spaces available on a first come first serve basis.  Bring your own lunch, drinks and blankets and enjoy a picnic in the park.  Renfrew Institute staff will accompany us on a one hour bug safari that begins promptly at 1:00 P.M.    The rain date for this event is Friday, July 18th at 12:00 P.M.

July 17th at 6:30 P.M. Magician John Andrews

Mr. Andrews, a resident of Carlisle, PA,  will mystify us with his “Bug” magic.  This long-time magician began his career at age 16. 

July 24th at 6:30 P.M.  Storyteller Judy Wolfman

Come spin a tale or two with us during this special story time event.  Our guest storyteller, Judy Wolfman, will tangle us in her web filled with imagination.

August 2nd at 10:00 A.M.  Franklin County Beekeepers Associates Mr. and Mrs. Stone

Mr. and Mr. Stone will discuss the differences in bees and wasps.  Traditional beekeeping equipment will be on display as Mr. and Mrs. Stone explain how honey is made.  Children will have the opportunity to taste honey made from bees.

August 16th (Time TBA ) Movie at Waynesboro Theater

This event is an exclusive yearly reward to all children who complete the   Summer Reading Program.  It is paid for by the Friends of the Library.  More     Information will be available in Mid-Late July.
